Anne Gibbs
Board Member
Anne Gibbs has been the office manager at Miracle-Ear for the past eight years, keeping things running smoothly with a mix of organization, patience, and good humor. When she’s not at work, she loves getting creative with crafting projects and spending time outdoors camping. She brings that same warmth and hands-on spirit to everything she does.

Sheila Tracy
Board Member
Sheila Dove Tracy serves as Chair of the GROW in Illinois Board and is a Primary on the GROW
in America Board. With extensive nonprofit experience and leadership as an organizer for
GROW in America’s virtual group, she focuses on advocacy for veterans’ issues, mental health,
and suicide prevention. Sheila excels at cultivating leadership, and brings a strategic,
collaborative approach to strengthening organizational systems, and expanding GROW’s virtual
12step program to broaden access and strengthen peer support networks to reach more
people in need.

Chris Stohr
Board Member
Christopher Stohr, PhD is a long-serving GROW Board Member, and recipient of the Paul Doebel Distinguished Mental Health Service Award.
As recent past GROW National Coordinator [CEO] Chris helped GROW recover from abrupt termination of funding from Illinois and New Jersey, continue community and county jail groups, and acquire/increase funding from county mental health [708] organization and private donations.

Alisha Bradley
Board Member
Alicia Bradley is a retired medical-surgical registered nurse formerly employed at the University of Illinois Medical Center of Chicago,Illinois where she served for 32 years. While at the hospital she served on many committees such as policy and procedures, compliance, and electronic medical records. She has also served as a substitute teacher in the Chicago Public School System for 5 years. In 2014 upon retiring she started volunteering for Grow bringing her skills from teaching and nursing.

Tanya Hicks
Board Member
Tanya Coopwood is currently serving as a Board Member of Grow , She has facilitated mental health groups through out the Chicago area and is an advocate for the worldwide mental health Grow movement program. She also teaches life management and anger management skills .She holds a BA in Music Therapy from DePaul University and was a Qualified Mental Health Professional for the state of Ill. Tanya retired in 2008 from Chicago Read mental health center. Where she served as an Activity Therapy coordinator. She provided treatment for the mental health and substance abuse Patients on her units which were involved in the Grow program. She brings 45 years of experience to the table to improve the skills of our population.

Gar Hale
Board Member
Gar Hale's journey in GROW began in February, 1992. As he was getting into the program, he became Recorder of the Cicero, Illinois community group, then took over as Organizer for about 12 years. He continues to be active in his community GROW group. He participated in the 25th Anniversary celebration of GROW in Illinois held in Champaign, Illinois; there, he met & had uplifting & memorable conversations with Con Keogh, one of GROW's founders. He joined the GROW in Illinois Board in 2006, and joined the GROW in America Board in 2020.
His personal testimony, "The GROW Program Works If You Work It" is found on page 78 in "The Brighter Side of Night" testimony book printed by GROW in America in 2010.
